We’re hiring an editorial project manager!
Full-time, fixed-term (six month) position available from January 2018
Who are we?
ELTjam is the Learner Experience Design company. That means it’s our job to help the ELT industry to create digital products that are truly impactful for learners – on the one hand highly effective, and on the other utterly delightful. We do this through our unique Learner Experience Design (LXD) process, which we’ve used to help some of the biggest players in ELT, EdTech and beyond create digital products that learners love.
An opportunity has arisen to join the ELTjam family in a full-time, fixed-term (six month) capacity, project managing an exciting, innovative client project. The position will be available from January 2018. You’ll be responsible for sourcing and running a team of authors, editors and multimedia producers to create cutting-edge, mobile-first blended learning content for business English. The role would suit a freelance editorial project manager looking for a more stable gig, or someone with recent experience as an in-house Managing Editor or Commissioning Editor.
You’ll probably have at least five years experience in an ELT editorial project management role, preferably with extensive experience of digital product and video/animation production. You’ll be highly pedagogically aware, but also recognise that content isn’t the only thing that makes for a great digital learning product – a good awareness of UX (especially for mobile) would also be highly advantageous. You’ll be used to keeping complex, fast-moving projects on track whilst delivering maximum value; be a deft author and freelance manager; have a ‘work smarter, not harder’ attitude; and be willing to work autonomously (and remotely – we have office space in East London that you’d be welcome to use, but this job can be done from pretty much anywhere in the world). Knowledge or experience of teaching in Japan would also be a huge plus.
We’ll be offering a highly competitive salary for the duration of your time with us, as well as the opportunity to work with one of (we think) the most fun, focused and effective teams in digital learning product development (us, that is). If your experience is mostly working with established publishers, you’ll learn a ton about how digital product is built outside of publishing, as well as have the opportunity to work at breakneck speed (with all of the ups and downs that entails).
Got questions, want to apply?
Drop Nick Robinson a line (email@example.com) with a CV or link to your LinkedIn profile. Or just let him know if you have any questions. It would also be useful to know your salary expectations and, given how quickly we need someone to start, whether you have a notice period to work out. That’s not a deal-breaker by any means, but it’s important information. Closing date 30 November 2017, 6pm.
