It’s Friday again, so it must be time for What we’re reading. Here’s what caught our eye this week:

How to turn an ELT print book into an eBook

emc design are one of our favourite ELT publishing design houses. They’ve recently been converting some ELT print books into eBooks, and here‘s what they’ve learned.

How to use a coursebook AND deal with emergent language

Great article from MaWSIG Deputy Events Coordinator and ELT author Rachael Roberts on treading that line between coursebook use and something more emergent. Essential reading for the Dogme fans (and coursebook fans!).

Accelerating Edtech in London

One-third of eltjam is London-based (i.e. me), so I was intrigued to hear that City University last week hosted the launch of ‘EdTech Accelerator’, “Europe’s first accelerator programme aimed specifically at technology innovation in education”. It looks like a great initiative.

And finally, a small plug. The Disabled Access Friendly Campaign is running a great competition to win 200€ of professional development materials. Check it out here and so give them your support; it’s a great cause.
